The Regency Run in conjunction with Spa Striders, the CSW Athletics Network and the University of Warwick Endurance Academy is organising training support services to assist runners preparing for this year’s race.

  1. There will be a Regency Run workshop on 22nd January at Trinity School (entrance by ticket only). Participants will be able to meet Dave Moorcroft (former 5000m World Record holder), ask advice from local coaches, athletes, nutritionists, physiotherapists and sportswear experts and take part in running exercise classes. There will be suitably adapted 10km training schedules and coaches to advise on any specific questions you have. Finally there’s an opportunity to sign-up to a 10 week training programme leading up to the race (see below). This workshop is aimed at all standards of runners.

Click here for more details or e-mail Dave Dix of the Endurance Academy at d.dix@warwick.ac.uk . The closing date for applications is January 13th 2012.

  2. The 10 week training programme is being run by Spa Striders on consecutive Wednesday evenings starting on February 1st. Newcomers to running do not have to join the Club to take advantage of this but they must enrol either at the Regency Workshop or Striders HQ at Leamington Tennis Club, Guys Cliffe Avenue on 25th January at 8.00.

Contact Striders via Sean Lonergan at training4regency10k@spastriders.co.uk for details.

  3. Finally you can obtain help, advice and discounts for running equipment from the governing body of athletics by subscribing to Run England. Run England is an on line running community set up by England Athletics which aims to get the whole nation up and running.
